CORE Mission and Strategy

The mission of CORE is to understand the disease of obesity, to identify optimal methods for its long-term management that are safe and cost effective, and to determine preventive strategies that can be implemented.

The strategic plan of CORE is to grow to become the premier Australian centre for obesity research and education, and a leading centre internationally, through undertaking research and educational activities that address the causes, consequences and treatments of obesity.

CORE differentiates itself by applying a multidisciplinary approach to the study and management of obesity via integrating strengths in epidemiology, public health, basic science, clinical research and therapy, and professional and community education.
