ObesityObesity is steadily becoming our worst pathogen. It is a side effect of an evolving lifestyle of copious food and relative inertia, a lifestyle that is becoming a part of the culture of our young and a part of the growth of our economies. It will not be easy to change. Obesity causes serious comorbidities, shortens life expectancy, reduces quality of life, and increases health care costs. An effective solution that is broadly acceptable is clearly needed.
